I just want to say hai and say how much I am appreciating the louly things that some of you louly people have said, with special appreciation for those who have said they will buy/bought my book and have donated to one of my various funds also. My newest fund is the Stop The Untruthiness! Bappi Lahiri Is NOT Jhumpa Lahiri's Dad You Gaiz!111 Fund which I hope will put an end to the blasphemous rumors that Disco King Bappi Lahiri is Jhumpa Lahiri's dad.

Also special shoutout to Sugi for doing this interview and more importantly, for using the word WIZZOW which is something I feel more people should be doing in their daily lives.

American teenager in India, but one with great observation and writing skills. Chick-lit from Madurai. (Mostly, though some of the twists of her imagination are rather wild. And promising, but only if she stops flashing it on blogs, and takes her writing self more seriously.)

I didn't like her making fun of people, mostly to block her out-of-placeness and insecurity. I got the sense that she is using humor as defense, or a kind of fortitude, against some serious pain for the people around her. Hopefully she will get over the imported cynicism and angst and wandering, do something constructive, and write a book.

I’ve read a little of the blog and writings–it doesn’t mean anything. It’s a lot of fun if you’re in. The content is not original but the delivery is well entertaining. I loved the blog but I don’t much care for the culture it speaks to. Just don’t care for assertive (rabid) Tamilness. (Yes I’m sorta Tamil myself–not acculturated, but that is where my father’s people are from and on my mother’s side its diverse Madras Presidency (i.e basically south indian). Most of the people who have responded so far appear to be Tamils (with tags like muttakose–cabbage). So clearly the blog is speaking on two levels–culture and feminism. I only like the fem part.
