This is not the Ajay who mentioned my dear friend Manish. This is the Ajay whom this interview was about. First I want to say Thankyou to the Ajay who mentioned Manish,and thankyou to Filmiholic for her kind words. Taz, I wish you had done your OWN review of the film as opposed to listing the one vaguely negative and somewhat un astute review we had. Although… I do appreciate you admitting that you had not seen the film. It’s an ode to my sister. She was a hardcore punk. I think you know something about that. Ajay Naidu

I was just about to comment that Ajay was fantastic in Loins Of Punjab but hearing the news on Manish just crushed my spirits. This is horrible news. LOP was an outstanding movie and, similar to Meenu's story, the film received a long ovation from the audience at the end of the NYC premier. More than half stuck around for the Q&A with the cast and crew where Manish demonstrated his humility and wit firsthand.

Manish - I hope you are reading this from above. You are an inspiration to our community for your pioneering work. (These are not hyperbole). May you rest in peace and my condolences to your family.

ajay's mom and my mom are friends in the 'burbs of chicago, and it makes my heart feel good to see his success.

and my heart is hurting about manish.

i saw LOP when it came out, in hyderabad, with a group of 20 or so friends. on the record, the theatre stood up and clapped at the end. more than half probably had never left india, but still related. that's how good a story teller he was.

god bless; but he will hopefully serve as an inspiration for young indians who will go on to make fabulous movies for the diaspora and beyond!

as i hope ajay will.

I was lucky enough to see the film at the recent MIAAC film festival in NY and my high expectations going into it (am a big fan of Ajay's, something that was cemented by his performance in the sadly, suddenly-gone-from-us Manish Acharya's "Loins of Punjab Presents") were met and exceeded.

It is an incredibly moving film and Ajay and Farhan work so well together. I can't wait to see the film again and hope it gets distribution soon, and agreed, the soundtrack is major

I’d just like to use this comment space to remember Manish Acharya, most famous for Loins of Punjab, who died an untimely death just a few days ago. A big loss to the desi film community.
