I’m sure there’s another place in London you could get a kati roll outside of Kathi Roll Company – I don’t know where it is, but if all else fails, make friends with someone who cooks! The originals in South Asia I’ve had are much cheaper and, while I crave Kathi Roll Company, the ones I’ve had in Delhi and Calcutta are at a different level. I’m veg now though so it takes a lot of joy away from the whole thing…

One thing I can definitely concur on is that Kati rolls are absolutely delicious. I’m in the UK, and there is only one here in Soho. It is pretty much always packed (often with desis). The food is cheap, good portions, hand made to order and tastes outstanding. I would recommend it to anyone of any ethnicity, as I’m sure they will love it. The only thing I can’t understand is why they haven’t tried to expand the franchise. I think there is only one in London and one in New York.
