keep it up auntie u remind me of some of my own aunties and i not afraid to admit it – some of those who are not finding this funny r embarrassed by who they r n where dey come from. Get over yer self – funny is funny, no?

i don’t think you can compare comedy, either you find it funny or you don’t – end of story – move on – don’t try to break people down – there’s too much negativity in the world – most peeps i know find this funny – if you don’t den dats your choice.

Goodness Gracious etc are funny too – but that don’t mean aunite ain’t funny… she IS and i love her.

This lady isn't funny at all.

Goodness Gracious me is way better. Look them up on you tube -some hilarious stuff on there! It is a little bit UK desi centric as they are all from the UK, but it is still very funny and I'm sure everyone can relate. Check this one out for a reversal on the typical drunk westerners in an indian restaurant - very well observed, written and peformed.

I think that Nimmi Harasgama is a very talented and resilient actor. Acting is hardly easy; like most art forms, the peformer puts him or herself out there and opens themselves up for criticism so I suppose it is inevitable that they prepare themselves for some critique. But it’s a little silly to get upset about the artist’s dramatic content because you think you know her personal background and motivations. You are not forced to like the content but you can hardly be a credible source to judge an artist’s motivations because you think you know the postcode she lived in when in Sri Lanka. People are not so one dimensional that they are unable to have different layers to their personalities. So it is possible that someone who grew up in elite Colombo soceity could do Aunty Netta without intending to merely mock aunties like that. And it is very likely that Nimmi also has aunties like Aunty Netta who she possibly laughs at yes, but who she probably also has a huge soft spot for… in the end, it doesn’t really matter.
