On a related – desi music – note, someone please review and post about desi-hip-hopper Bohemia’s new album. It’s not the talvin-nitin-punditz-KK-niraj style Indian electronica, but more like the swami-tigerstyle-sona-family-outlandish style desi urban vibe. On Indian electronica side, Nirj Chag’s new album “Lost Souls” is out as well, not as good as his “Along the Dusty Roads”, but still a good listen.

Minor quibble. Ghalib wrote a substantial number of poems in Farsi. In fact, for a time, he had stopped writing in Urdu completely. That said, his Urdu poems are most well-known. I think "poet Ghalib" would be a more apposite description than "Urdu poet"

Boy oh boy, wonder what Enu would have to say about that?

I mean ragas and nightclubs don't mix, do they? Isn't something like mixing the cooling effects of yoga with the hot sounds of flemenco?

Indian Music was naturally in the west anyhows going to blend with western themes...this is natural evolution...would be nice to see the opposite way also
