All right everyone– I’m leaving for SF in the next hour (cannot. stand. traffic). So one last time, for the cheap seats in the back:

1) Udupi is CASH-ONLY.

2) Udupi does not accept reservations.

If you find this venue a poor choice due to those two points, I would humbly like to take this opportunity to point out that you guys suggested it. Me? I’m looking forward to trying the food. The Berkeley Udipi (and Strada) is where I’ve been stopping whenever I’m on my way in/out of the city.

So.

Because we can’t make reservations and it’s going to be a busy Friday night, we need to actually be there on time, so that when we ask for a table, we know how big a number with which to torment the hostess. We will be fighting for space among “Mission hipsters” apparently, so get ready to throw some ‘bows.

Essentially, unlike DC where I arrange for tables or private rooms for us, this is going to be a flash mob sort of a meetup. Get there right around 6:30, we’ll do a headcount and then when we’re eating an hour later, we’ll shoot sympathetic looks at those who arrive on IST. If you’re running late but are like, minutes away, email me. Link is in handle. I wish you all a great Friday afternoon and I wish me no traffic and much Outkast and Lupe-blaring, as I bounce down 80.
