It is not surprising that nobody accuses Bedi of being a sellout. A minority in the democratic can never be a sellout. He passes the leftist litmus test.

Actually it would be his father who would be accused of being a sellout. In his father’s defense, at least Jonathan didn’t get named Slade.

So would that make it a punjabi name. Unless I'm mistaken I have been told that the Bedi lineage go all the way back to one of the 10 guru. I can recall hearing or reading that somewhere.

It is a Punjabi Khatri name. Guru Nanak was born into a Bedi family.

Thanks for the story - I heard about the Bedi/Rush billboard being vandalized last week, and I wondered if Bediw as desi or not.

In any case, one story I saw implied that Hendon knew and possibly was behind the vandalized billboard. I don't live in this district, but Bedi is media savvy, and seems intent on keeping his name in circulation through tomorrow's election and beyond as a means of drumming up support.

Not necessarily...Bedi is a khatri surname, and can be Hindu or Sikh.
