I wasn’t arguing with the choice of the number three, as to how much everything seems to be governed by “three strikes and you’re out”. I was just saying, why not, “four downs and you’ve lost the ball”. If there’s some penalty scheme for 2 errors, that would be fine too. “2 terms and you get a presidential library”?
