Your comments are not threatening and we don’t close comments to “keep you out”; we do so when a thread is being spammed, when it’s wandered so far off-topic that it’s pointless etc. Most threads die a natural death, unless a troll kills it first.

HMF: AFAIK, threads usually don’t get re-opened, unless someone other than the author closed them…in which case it’s the author’s privilege to reopen. Even then, if it needed to be shut down…that generally means that everyone agrees it should stay shut.

Has there ever been a thread where comments were closed, and reopened? And not reopened for a blogger to post, but reopened for people to continue discussion?

I make no reference to any particular thread that I want or wanted reopened, rather, I just had a sheer curiosity.

Late as this response is, i think it serves as testimony that i really do read all your posts no matter how late. It’s difficult to resist when someone writes as honestly and–fo’ sho–as brattily as you .
