There are more Seattlites lurking around here than one would think. I would warrant that a meetup at the downtown Spice Lounge would not go underattended.

I, for one, would much appreciate a SM Seattle Meetup. DC? NYC? LA? Chicago? Pfft. The brown runs strong in Seattle.

Crikes! I had only been reveling in the sudden fame Sepia provided me by being in one of the cover pictures and now I find myself(with fellow mutineers ofcourse) already upstaged by somebody with terrific cleavage. Damn you Leyla Milani! Such is the life of cover-page fame, I guess. I am partly to be blamed about the lack of pictures since I had the only working camera at that time and I made a hurried exit before everybody else.

Did anyone order paper masala dosa at Udipi and is it still two feet in length, overlapping your neighbor's paper masala by six inches?

I did inform Ennis about the length of the Paper Masala but he didn't seem to mind one bit. BTW, the man looks exactly like the grainy picture we have of him in the list of the bloggers on the front page.

All in all, greatly enjoyed the meet up. Looking forward to the next one in spring or whenever.

HEY.

I know you guys don’t realize you are rubbing salt in his wounds, so I’ll intervene and say this: Ennis lost his camera minutes before the meetup and felt terrible about it; I was on the phone w/him when he realized this sad reality. I told him not to worry– that you guys would take more than enough photographs, since that’s what happens in NYC, DC and SF. Some of you DID take lots of pictures, right?

As I recall from my years there, almost all of the desis I met in Seattle were either Microsoft employees, Boeing employees or UW students.

fwiw, both myself and ex-mutineer Manish Vij are ex-MSFT'ies. So the MSFT / Seattle Sepia Mutiny roots ran deep at one point, at least....

Ravneet – I’m really sorry to hear about your health problems and am glad to hear that things turned out OK. We’ll have another one soon-ish, just figure I should wait since we’re heading into winter (no Razib, it’s not winter yet) and people will be more likely to want to play in the spring.
