I guess it would depend on what your potential in-laws thought you were going to, er, do with with the photo. You can interpret that any way you want, some interpretations are obviously more dubious than others

Actually, it does raise a good point. Since the traditional arranged marriage process is supposed to involve no canoodling before marriage (theoretically — yes I know some people do it anyway), hypothetically shouldn’t both parties have the right to check each other out in this aspect, considering it’s not exactly supposed to be be a platonic relationship post-wedding ? If not, then isn’t it unfair to the people concerned if they don’t know the “real picture” of who they’re getting involved with ? (In this case it involves what they look like under their clothes, but obviously it applies to several other areas too).

I guess it depends on what people’s priorities are (and, as we all know, there is sometimes quite a large disparity between the guy/woman’s priorities/requirements and those of his/her parents in this regard), but — thinking laterally — I thought it was a pertinent question.
