I didn’t. Go back and reread.

You think illegal immigrants don’t work?

We are simply going in circles.

I don’t think I’d trust someone who has so little compassion at EVERY level…

You don’t know me from shit where is the concept of trust coming from. I’m confused.

Sorry, i know i am an a-hole

At least you admit it. I don’t consider any of your emotional rants worthy of response because you choose to personally attack me.

but seeing you recommend fur just seemed to be of a piece with your position on this thread.

This post is about Gibson on SM. If you have something to say about a post on my blog I suggest you post there and don’t treadjack here. And may I suggest get a grip on yourself. Jeez.

This must be examined when dissected one's views - how can you separate the two? This is the fundamental hypocrisy on much of the right that must be unwound.
Al mujahid, “personal” is important – as I said, not trying to offend, just hoping for some self-reflection from such posters. We had a lecture on this, and the only clear answer the prof gave was that you couldn't turn away a person if it was an emergency case (childbirth counts). He hasn't been practicing for a long time now, just teaching and he told us it would probably be explained better later. So, I give a half-assed answer :)
Taz, I’m kinda sorta working on being a doctor, does that count? Actually the US goverment (ie taxpayers) pays for medicaid, lock, stock, and barrel.

No, actually you are wrong. You need to be either a US citizen or a permanent resident in the United States to get medicaid. So illegal Mexican aliens are not eligible for Medicaid. Of course if they have kids who are US citizens, they would be eligible for Medicaid, but the illegal alien parents would still not be eligible.
Nice try, Mujahidi. Turn them back from the hospitals. When some women end up giving birth next to a garbage dump, screaming, with placenta strewn everywhere, others will learn a lesson that the State will not support their ways. And as to the argument that women who can't afford healthcare shouldn't have children...eugenics anyone? Health insurance is terribly expensive and many middle class families (yes the ones with both parents present)can't afford them. My parents couldn't afford it and I got through a lot of infections using antibiotics touted back from India. I guess they shouldn't have had kids though. And when did government get detached from compassion? At its best, government would be an expression of community and a community cares for its own. And yes illegals and the poor are also part of our own. Hell, half of the houses being built right this second in Texas are being built by illegals. Instead of turning them away from schools and advocating they have their children in alleyways, how about turning them away from jobs? That would certainly work better no? Oh but right, the houses wouldn't be so goddamn affordable if we did that.
“Simple. Turn them back from the hospitals.
