The town itself isn't all that great but the outskirts are very pretty. I think high rates of crime, poverty, and all that good stuff aside, New Mexico sunsets just might make it the prettiest place ever :) The Gurudwara itself is beautiful and the grounds are really quiet, it was a great place to sit and think.
