Conjee Rustumjee Cohoujee Bey could be Kanji Rustomjee Cawasjee Bey. “Bey” is just a title of respect. It is Turkish in origin. He could be a Parsi from Iran. Princely family could mean a Merchant Prince family. He may just be an adveturer. Do not look for any South Asian features, if you see a long nose, that is enough! He is a Parsi!

I dont see how Gomez was a prince/royalty. There havent been any parsi prince(s) in india. Some parsi’s did work for princely states. Interesting tid bid to know.

In a picture that teeny and washed out, there’s no way to tell the subject’s ethnicity. It’s striking he took the name Gomez – one “brown” name traded for another? Did he want people to assume he was of Spanish descent?

Searched for pictures of Antonio Gomez and found the following link. He doesn’t look South Asian from what i can see or may be because he is parsi!!
