Q. Is taqwacore religious music?

A. Taqwacore does not endorse any specific religious ideology.  Taqwacore only represents a safe space for free expression.  There are no standards of faith or practice.  Taqwacore includes believers, atheists, and everyone in between, as well as artists and friends from non-Muslim backgrounds who identify with taqwacore on a personal or political level.

Q. So this isn’t like Christian rock?

A.   No.  No it is not.

Q. What does it mean to be a Muslim punk rocker in post-9/11 America?

A. Go fuck yourself.
