Hey, I’m super pro-Islamic, as long as the message is on target. If people wanna follow Allah, more power to ‘em.

This just isn’t listenable. I’m sorry, Riot Grrl has you bent over an Ottoman

The Black Peppercorns are a more interesting band, and they’re 12 year old white girls.

Listen to some old Candiria, KARP. Behead the Prophet No Lord Shall Live or something… this all just seems so limited…

Insha’Allah, we should all listen to and interpret things outside of our personal boxes and bring in outside influence, learning. Soak up some Bikini Kill, Scared of Chaka, the Men’s Recovery Project… other stuff we might otherwise pass on hearing.

This hardline-hardcore nonsense is only going to appeal to hardline-hardcore dudes. That’s not an audience that is going to have a long term perseverance, unless hardcore guys start giving birth to other hardcore guy’s babies.

I just don’t understand why Islam and innovation have to be such star-crossed lovers, and I’m sick of it. It’s time to grow up and open ears.

i don’t even know where to begin. it seems like you just flew off the handle…

i’m sorry we’re not poppy enough for you… this may not be for you, but that’s why there are 31 flavors. not all music is meant to sound the same.

just because we don’t play like all the old riot grrrl bands doesn’t mean we haven’t listened to them. i’ve got sleater-kinney, bratmobile, bikini kill, etc. albums, but that simply wasn’t the vehicle for what we were trying to do.

as for some of the other bands that you mentioned, i’m simply not a fan. i find a lot of it to be uninspired and unoriginal.

by the way, speaking of longevity, that riot grrrl scene sure lasted long, huh? i mean, i’m sure it’s still going, but its heyday was a few years in the early ’90′s. i would argue that anarcho and crust punk today have far larger followings.

as for being hardline, we’re far from it. furthermore, earth crisis sucks. i’m sorry…

this isn’t a boy’s club. our original line-up featured a female singer. some of our content in newer songs deal with issues around women.

but in terms of content, this song (and the great majority of our music) have nothing to do with talking about islam.

so, i’m not really sure where you were going with this….

      H’lo

well, thanks for being so decent… I spent all day today feeling like a dick for having mouthed off at you for no reason.

I guess I’ve just been amped up about a bunch of nonsense and took it out on you. I apologize. Keep doing what you’re doing and ignore negative gibberish like I wrote the other day.

hey why do you say it’s your first music video? don’t you count Disorientation? it’s such an epic vid. I like Miskeen too, but it’s more hard to decipher. someone who doesn’t understand Arabic would miss a lot of this song without context….
