The South Asian Census Fact Sheet gives us a glimpse of the South Asian community through information available on the census. We see it as one of many lenses to understand how best to serve the communities.

The data give us a multi-layered picture of the community – and specific directions we should be gearing towards when providing services and organizing in the community. The data are clearly drawing out the need for organizations to provide services across the board – in labor, immigrant rights, youth work, welfare rights, right to education, housing rights, livable wage and so on.
