SHaKTI PRODUCTIONS creates educational resources for non-profit social change and community-based organizations that are working to end violence against women and children in traditionally silenced communities. These resources are used to heighten awareness of issues that contribute to this violence and sustain new levels of activism to change the way communities respond. Started in 1989, SHaKTI PRODUCTIONS has released 2 award-winning video documentaries, "Voices Heard Sisters Unseen" (1995) which is about the intersections of historical oppressions and domestic violence and "The Children We Sacrifice" (2000) which is about child sexual abuse in South Asian communities. This video has been screened in 18 countries. SHaKTI's work focuses on traditionally silenced communities.
