Founded in 1990, Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP) is a national membership and philanthropic advocacy organization dedicated to advancing philanthropy and Asian Pacific American (APA) communities. Published: Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim and South Asian Communities in the San Francisco Bay Area: An Introduction to Grantmakers. This report by Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP) and Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees (GCIR), highlights some of the issues, challenges, and concerns facing these communities post-September 11th. Though the report is focused on the San Francisco Bay Area, we believe that the information and recommendations in this paper resonates throughout the country, especially in communities with large or growing Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim and South Asian populations.
