| South Asian Health Initiative |
The South Asian Health Initiative (SAHI) bridges the South Asian immigrant community in New York City with available and needed health resources and information. SAHI organizes and hosts outreach events that bring free preventive health screening to communities, such as blood sugar, cholesterol & blood pressure checks, dental exams, tuberculosis and HIV testing, made possible by the various trusted service organizations that SAHI partners with. In addition to offering services to South Asians, we also conduct cultural competence trainings and medical interpreter trainings to brigde the gap between the medical community and our community. SAHI is a project of the Center for Immigrant Health (CIH) of NYU School of Medicine.
