Asian Human Services

Asian Human Services (AHS) exists to provide quality and compassionate human services to the Asian American community of metropolitan Chicago.  In 1978, leaders from the Japanese, Filipino, Korean, Asian Indian, and Vietnamese communities of Chicago established Asian Human Services (AHS) to meet the critical human service and health care needs of the growing Asian immigrant and refugee populations in metropolitan Chicago.  Since its founding, AHS has greatly expanded its scope to meet the needs of its constituent Asian immigrant and refugee communities and other immigrant and low-income groups on Chicago's north side. AHS now includes the AHS Family Health Center, a primary health care clinic, and holds the charter for Passages Charter School. Passages is the first elementary school in the Chicago Public School System to address the specific educational and social needs of immigrant and refugee children.  AHS is the only pan-Asian, nationally-accredited, Medicaid-certified social service agency in the state of Illinois.
